00:00:00.001 --> 00:00:03.083
Our country has gone through
some significant changes

00:00:03.118 --> 00:00:04.613
during the past decade.

00:00:04.648 --> 00:00:07.134
On a more local note, I saw
in this morning's paper that

00:00:07.169 --> 00:00:09.837
your company's stock is up
1/4 point, and with the

00:00:09.872 --> 00:00:11.836
recent changes you
implemented, the future

00:00:11.871 --> 00:00:14.324
looks very promising.

00:00:14.359 --> 00:00:17.414
I typically read the afternoon
edition of the newspaper.

00:00:17.449 --> 00:00:20.296
In yesterday's paper, I was
fascinated by the heroism of

00:00:20.331 --> 00:00:23.161
a 14-year-old boy who rescued
the two children he was

00:00:23.196 --> 00:00:26.035
baby-sitting when their
house caught on fire.

00:00:26.070 --> 00:00:29.305
It's amazing what people can
do when faced with adversity.

00:00:29.340 --> 00:00:32.883
John Doe is the senior
senator, and Octavia Pollard

00:00:32.918 --> 00:00:35.054
is the junior senator.

00:00:35.089 --> 00:00:37.688
From all indications, it looks
like the economy is taking a

00:00:37.723 --> 00:00:39.349
turn for the better.

00:00:39.384 --> 00:00:42.257
The Index of Leading Economic
Indicators seems more

00:00:42.292 --> 00:00:44.658
positive now than it did
three months ago, and I

00:00:44.693 --> 00:00:47.421
certainly hope the
trend continues.

00:00:47.456 --> 00:00:49.755
I am one who can get along
with most people in

00:00:49.790 --> 00:00:51.299
most situations.

00:00:51.334 --> 00:00:53.711
However, I had an employee
once who stole from our

00:00:53.746 --> 00:00:56.558
company and lied about it,
blaming the thefts on an

00:00:56.593 --> 00:00:58.437
innocent co-worker.

00:00:58.472 --> 00:01:00.340
I try to vary my lunches.

00:01:00.375 --> 00:01:02.564
I prefer to eat a light
dinner, so I usually eat a

00:01:02.599 --> 00:01:03.895
heavier lunch.

00:01:03.930 --> 00:01:07.214
For example, yesterday, I had
a salad and a club sandwich.

00:01:07.249 --> 00:01:09.633
Sometimes, I'll eat leftovers
from dinner the night before

00:01:09.668 --> 00:01:13.537
- I can't stand to see good
food go to waste.

00:01:13.572 --> 00:01:16.407
I feel confident typing on a
computer, though I have not

00:01:16.442 --> 00:01:18.475
had the need to use a
typewriter for the past

00:01:18.510 --> 00:01:19.728
several years.

00:01:19.763 --> 00:01:23.424
I am familiar with most
business software programs.

00:01:23.459 --> 00:01:26.032
In my volunteer work, I've
accompanied many groups of

00:01:26.067 --> 00:01:28.159
children to the
Children's Museum.

00:01:28.194 --> 00:01:31.059
I get excited watching them
learn, and I usually learn

00:01:31.094 --> 00:01:33.753
something new myself.

00:01:33.788 --> 00:01:36.532
I spent the most recent
weekend with my family.

00:01:36.567 --> 00:01:39.551
We attended a baseball game,
went rafting, and toured a

00:01:39.586 --> 00:01:41.662
local manufacturing plant.

00:01:41.697 --> 00:01:43.054
It was almost a
relief to get back here

00:01:43.054 --> 00:01:44.399
so that I
could relax!

00:01:45.076 --> 00:01:48.129
I do not get much time to
watch television.

00:01:48.164 --> 00:01:51.186
I do watch the local and
national news every morning.

00:01:51.221 --> 00:01:53.793
For entertainment, I like
classic comedy shows and

00:01:53.828 --> 00:01:56.487
cartoons from several
years ago.

00:01:56.522 --> 00:01:59.876
I also like nature specials,
and black & white movies.

00:01:59.911 --> 00:02:03.000
My parents are strong
believers that education is

00:02:03.035 --> 00:02:04.990
the key to a
person's success.

00:02:05.025 --> 00:02:07.890
Excelling in school was
important to my whole family.

00:02:07.925 --> 00:02:10.516
Quite often, we did things
together as a family.

00:02:10.551 --> 00:02:13.321
Somehow, when we went on
camping trips, it seemed like

00:02:13.356 --> 00:02:14.892
it always rained.

00:02:14.927 --> 00:02:17.240
We brought cards and board
games to amuse ourselves

00:02:17.275 --> 00:02:18.717
until we could go
outside again.
