00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.190
At the end of your resume,
you should include a reference

00:00:03.225 --> 00:00:06.286
line, which says,
"References will be furnished

00:00:06.321 --> 00:00:09.441
upon request or
Available upon request..

00:00:09.476 --> 00:00:12.228
You should avoid including a
list of your references on

00:00:12.263 --> 00:00:13.578
your resume for three reasons:

00:00:13.613 --> 00:00:16.418
First, there is no need to
take up valuable space

00:00:16.453 --> 00:00:18.762
by listing your references
directly on your resume.

00:00:18.797 --> 00:00:23.665
Second, your references may
tire of calls about you.

00:00:23.700 --> 00:00:27.174
And third, you may wish to
tailor your list of references

00:00:27.209 --> 00:00:29.058
for each position youre
applying for.

00:00:29.093 --> 00:00:32.392
A good rule of thumb is to
have three references in mind:

00:00:32.427 --> 00:00:36.603
one personal, one professional
and one educational.
