Introduction
The eLearning Nursing review system is a personalized review module to help users assess, evaluate, and follow-up on their Nursing Review strengths and weaknesses. The module provides initial and on-going assessment tests, focused review material, multiple subject area Nursing Review-style drill questions, and ten comprehensive sample Nursing Review examinations. The above material is organized into an individualized lesson plan that is determined through the analyses of comprehensive Nursing Review assessment tests. The Personalized Lesson Plan addresses the weaknesses of a user and enables him or her to review the subject areas he or she needs the most work in - at his or her own pace.
Stage 1
Nursing Review FAQ
You should first read and understand the Nursing Review FAQ. This should give you a better idea of what the Nursing Review is all about, what areas it covers, and how it is scored. After reading the FAQ you can proceed to the Stage 1 Assessment Test.
Stage 1 Assessment Test
In this test you will be asked to answer 200 Nursing Review-style questions. The Stage 1 Assessment Test is comprehensive and is presented in an Nursing Review-style interface. You will have up to 5 hours to finish the test. You should try to do your best, but do not be too concerned about your score as this test is designed to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.
On completion of the Stage 1 Assessment Test you will be presented with your results. The results are broken down into the five steps of the Nursing Process, the four general Client Needs Categories, the ten Client Needs Subcategories, and the eight detailed areas of Human Functions. Your score for each category will be reported with a brief analysis statement. You can look at a sample of results below.

Any score below 80% in a Human Functions area indicates that you will need to study that area more closely. Low-scoring areas will be automatically included in your Personalized Lesson Plan. Scores below 50% indicate that you will need to work especially hard in those areas. Area scores of 80% or higher indicate that you have a strong grasp of those areas and they will not be included in your Personalized Lesson Plan. This does not mean you cannot review them. If you wish to do so, you may select them from the comprehensive list of Human Functions areas or look for them in the list of Clinical Units. At this point you will also be able to review the test, answers and rationales in order to help you to determine areas of study you should concentrate on.
Stage 1 Personalized Lesson Plan
After reading your Stage 1 Assessment Test results click Lesson Plan. This page will present you with an outline of the areas in which you need to concentrate your review. You will also notice that a set of links has appeared on the left side of your screen. The links enable you to navigate to each subject area in your Personalized Lesson Plan.
Reviewing the Material
The material for a given Human Functions area is categorized by the Clinical Units they pertain to. At any time you can jump to the full Clinical Unit from which the Human Functions material is drawn by clicking the Unit link of the article. After reviewing the material from a specific Human Functions area you will be given a relevant series of Nursing Review-style drill questions and rationales. It is important to try to answer the questions and to read and understand the accompanying rationales.
Stage 2
Stage 2 Assessment Test
After completing the Stage 1 Personalized Lesson Plan, you will be given a Stage 2 Assessment Test. This simulated Nursing Review test is similar to that of Stage 1 and is designed to evaluate both your progress and whether you need additional review in the same or other Human Functions areas. There are 100 questions in this test.
Stage 2 Assessment Test Results and Personalized Lesson Plan
As in Stage 1 you will be presented with an analysis of your test results. This will form the basis of your Stage 2 Personalized Lesson Plan. Hopefully, you will have fewer areas to review this time. Once again, you will be able to review the questions, answers, and rationales of the assessment test.
Nursing Review Test-Taking Strategies
On completion of your Stage 2 Personalized Lesson Plan, you will gain access to 60 Test-Taking Strategies. Please review them before taking the Stage 3 Final Test.
